For a while now, the Sagan and Sagan rules development branches have been avaliable via SVN (Subversion). While Subversion/SVN worked, we decided to move to a more collaborative system. This system is known as 'git'.

"Git is a distributed revision control system with an emphasis on speed. Git was initially designed and developed by Linus Torvalds for Linux kernel development. Every Git working directory is a full-fledged repository with complete history and full revision tracking capabilities, not dependent on network access or a central server."

We've also moved off our old internal Subversion/SVN server to the public Github service. Github offers some really nice features over our old SVN/Subversion system. It's easier to look at "changes" in the code base and be more "social" with writing software. In our tests, it's really worked out well.
